You all remember the bouncing game, if not it is the one with the rolling red ball.

A classic made better with the new motion control technology, or at least thats what the guys at Nokia think. As you all know by now this technology is not as new as they may think. It has been around for at least a couple of years. So there is one question I would like to ask them, and may sound like a line from a Hollywood action film “What took you so long?!”

Here is another thing I do not understand, Nokia has just released their first accelerometer enabled game for N-Gage. So far so good, but what is the future for this platform? They have been announcing better graphics and advanced gameplay but nothing so far. The only game with decent graphics is ONE. And Sony announced a PSP phone, which means that besides iPhone, Nokia may have a new competitor on the mobile gaming market.

Nokia better come up with something soon, because they are loosing ground, fast. This technology is old and there are a lot of games for iPhone that use it, with have better graphics. Its time to step up.

Thebubblegames.com has a lot of great games with amazing graphics and unique gameplay. One of those games is Panda Manda, a quest game that uses the accelerometer to control the main character, which as you might have guessed is a panda.

Moreover, this game has stunning 3D graphics and runs smoothly on any 3rd edition device, but it is compatible with only a few of those. Because it uses the accelerometer to control the panda’s movement while playing a map. The game features three different modes of gameplay.

TheQuest is the one where you have to finish a certain quest to finish the game, basically it is the storyline mode. PlayMap enables you to play a hand-picked map of your choosing, whether it is one you created or predefined from the games database. Create Map is where you actually design your personal map to enjoy your panda’s movement, much like in any strategy game that has map creator built in.

The gameplay is very simple tilt your phone in the direction you want your panda to move, but be careful as it moves on a map from which he can fall down. When your panda falls from the map it is game over and you have to start from the begining of the level. The objective is similar to that of Pac Man or Nokia’s Snake , collect as many goodies or whatever as you must to complete your goal. However you have a certain amount of time to finish the game, so keep that in mind.

To conclude, Panda Manda is a great 3D Adventure game with stunning graphics and entertaining gameplay. Also it is accelerometer enabled so you don’t need any buttons to play it on your <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336265401&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FAll-New-Nokia-E75-Black-Unlocked-GPS-WiFi-3-2MP-QWERTY_W0QQitemZ110374870546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0%3Fhash%3Di"rel="nofollow"title="Buy Nokia E75" >Nokia E75.

Basically it is useless, the only thing it does is play music when you shake the phone. No other settings required it just uses the accelerometer.

To begin, the application uses the accelerometer function of the <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336265401&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FAll-New-Nokia-E75-Black-Unlocked-GPS-WiFi-3-2MP-QWERTY_W0QQitemZ110374870546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0%3Fhash%3Di"rel="nofollow"title="Buy Nokia E75" >E75, when you shake your phone the music starts playing. It comes with a pre-defined .mp3 song the xDancer.mp3. It also offers the capability to change the song and play your own songs.

If you like working out then I think this application has been made especially for those who like that. When the shaking stops, so does the music. The direction is not important the phone has to move, just move. I haven’t tested the phone with more than one song at a time and I don’t know if it switches tracks after the first is complete.

The animation has nothing to do with the shaking, it moves all the time and probably you can try to imitate it. It still has a minor bug, the music seems to be pausing every now and again although the phone doesn’t stop shaking. It also makes the speakers buzz a little but again I have yet to test it with a personal song.

All in all, this is quite an interesting application and because it is an open source it can be modded into something much more useful with a little imagination. For now, just have fun and shake to listen to the music of your choosing.

Download xDancer Application here

Linux fans rejoice, Frozen Bubble goes Twisted. So if you are a Linux fan you can test this new game for free. This version of the game uses the accelerometer to control the arrow so just tilt and shoot. Keep in mind that it is still in the works and it may take some getting used to, especially because of the directional arrow.

The Frozen Bubble game is an arcade game in which you have to match three or more balls of the same color. It also features a time limit, or until the balls reach bottom half of the screen. The guys at AikonLabs have done it again, they have adapted one of the greatest games from the Linux platform to Symbian OS with accelerometer features.

Easy to play and with very few settings the game is known all across the world. Fun and entertaining this game can give you hours and hours of fun. It is not age restricted so you can enjoy it with the whole family.

Moreover, it doesn’t require the use of any directional key the twisted version features full accelerometer support. A trait that not many games for the Symbian platform seem to be lacking.

All in all, this a quite entertaining game although it needs some work done for the accelerometer feature. The arrow seems to be lacking in precision because it is moving to much. A bit less affinity to the accelerometer and it might just be perfect.

Have you ever left your phone unattended and it got stolen or just had your privacy invaded?
nAlter Me is simple and easy to use, with an user-friendly design and very few settings required. Just install the application on your <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336265401&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FAll-New-Nokia-E75-Black-Unlocked-GPS-WiFi-3-2MP-QWERTY_W0QQitemZ110374870546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0%3Fhash%3Di"rel="nofollow"title="Buy Nokia E75" >E75 and set your personal deactivation code.

The application uses the accelerometer feature of your phone, so when someone picks it up or just moves it a little the alarm starts. If the phone is not set in the right sequence the alarm keeps ringing until the user inputs the right sequence. It worked without any delay and the sound was quite loud so I could hear it from across the apartment.

Furthermore, I have personally tested this and it works wonders. At first I did not know at what it might need use, but then I just left the phone unattended. When someone picked it up after a few seconds it started ringing and scared the person handling it.

The downside is that the application has not yet been implemented to run in the background so it doesn’t go into power saving mode. The upside is that if anyone picks up the phone he cannot stop the application or access anything else without the right sequence code.

To sum up, this is a great application that turned out to be quite useful for me even though I didn’t know if it ever will turn out to be.

Rock N’ Scroll is an application that uses the accelerometer feature of your phone. No keys, no touchscreen required, just tilt or flick the phone according to what one might want its phone to do.

The application is quite useful especially if your fingers are dirty and you don’t want to smudge your screen or your keyboard. Scrolling and playing songs has never been easier. If you don’t like the song, just flick the phone and change the tune.

Furthermore, this is one of the most exciting applications I have ever seen and fun to play with. The accelerometer controls are also enabled for games, a feature which Nokia seems to be overlooking. Just tilt your phone to control the games actions. Want to go left, tilt the phone left and so on.

In my opinion this one of the few applications that the folks at Nokia should look into. Wouldn’t it be great if your Nokia had a Rock N’ Scroll feature built-in? This also solves the problem of the N-Gage games need to be accelerometer-enabled, as one can see in the video below.

To conclude, the application is one of the best and most creative ones that I have seen in a long time. The guys at Keynetik have done a great job and hope to see more of their applications in the near future.

Although I have yet to test the phone myself, the new features are quite attractive and I can’t hardly wait for its release in my country. The release date for the Nokia E75 is late April.

The first question that pops in mind is “why on God’s green Earth would a business phone need games for?” Well, to answer that question I came up with a one word answer: “Boredom”.

Every now and again everybody likes to test out their phones and gets even more exited when they can play the latest games and have the latest features. In my opinion a business phone should have all the latest gadgetry available because you can never know what or where one might end up needing them.

If you get stuck in traffic on your way to work or on the road and you have nothing else to do, well, that is where the new gaming features come in handy. Accelerometer and N-Gage capabilities are the most awaited features on an E-series phone since the arrival of the E71.

The accelerometer is present for a much easier use of the phones sliding QWERTY keyboard and for improved gaming that doesn’t make your thumbs hurt. Let’s face it, who doesn’t find it fascinating that you can play games just by tilting your phone?

Although, Nokia has released plenty of phones with this feature, they have yet to create N-Gage games with support for it. I hear they are a work in progress and that we will be able to play more accelerometer enabled games once the much awaited N97 comes out this year.

With the same CPU as the E71 (ARM 11 369 MHz processor), the <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336265401&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FAll-New-Nokia-E75-Black-Unlocked-GPS-WiFi-3-2MP-QWERTY_W0QQitemZ110374870546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0%3Fhash%3Di"rel="nofollow"title="Buy Nokia E75" >E75 can run the latest N-Gage games. Also, the 2.4″ QVGA disply with 16 milion colors gives a very good rendering of its graphics.

Without a doubt the phone is more than just a business device. It can quite easily be used as a way off passing time , or if you just want to test your skills.
