Nokia E75 App Review-xDancer

By | April 11, 2009

scr000002 Nokia E75 App Review xDancer AikonLab says “Lets Dance” with the new xDancer application. Basically it is useless, the only thing it does is play music when you shake the phone. No other settings required it just uses the accelerometer.

To begin, the application uses the accelerometer function of the E75, when you shake your phone the music starts playing. It comes with a pre-defined .mp3 song the xDancer.mp3. It also offers the capability to change the song and play your own songs.

If you like working out then I think this application has been made especially for those who like that. When the shaking stops, so does the music. The direction is not important the phone has to move, just move. I haven’t tested the phone with more than one song at a time and I don’t know if it switches tracks after the first is complete.

The animation has nothing to do with the shaking, it moves all the time and probably you can try to imitate it. It still has a minor bug, the music seems to be pausing every now and again although the phone doesn’t stop shaking. It also makes the speakers buzz a little but again I have yet to test it with a personal song.

All in all, this is quite an interesting application and because it is an open source it can be modded into something much more useful with a little imagination. For now, just have fun and shake to listen to the music of your choosing.
